Last weekend, Lake and I were delighted to babysit our friend's one-year-old, Abby. Lake did most of the heavy lifting as I had to leave for a couple of hours to teach Primary. We had a wonderful time reading books, coloring, singing songs, and playing outside. While we were playing outside, it was
particularly fun to see Abby discover and get frustrated with her shadow! Lake favored Abby and me with some songs on the guitar including a jazzy version of "Give Said the Little Stream" and Kermit the Frog's "The Rainbow Connection."
As Virginia Tech students return to class this week, our thoughts and prayers are with the University community. Given the proximately and similarities between Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia, this tragedy has been particularly poignant to the UVA community. Lake and I participated in a letter writing campaign to send our condolences to victims, families, and Virginia Tech. We continue to keep the Virginia Tech community in our prayers and we hope you will too!
